Ruth Ann has been an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist since 2012. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009 and in 2011 with her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Mississippi. She is also a graduate of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College and served as the Vice-President of NSSLHA.

Ruth Ann has been an ASHA ACE Award recipient on five occasions and is an active member of the Mississippi Speech-Language Hearing Association (MSHA) and the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology (AAPPSPA). She has previously served on the marketing committee for MSHA and currently serves on MSHA’s healthcare committee. She has conducted multiple sessions on the topic of private practice at the annual Mississippi Speech-Language Hearing Association conference, presented research at the 2008 ASHA Convention, authored for the ASHA blog, and served as a reviewer for Plural Publishing.

Ruth Ann has worked as an SLP within skilled nursing facilities, schools, hospitals, and outpatient settings. She started her private practice, King Speech-Language Therapy in 2017. Since 2017, the practice has grown tremendously serving hundreds of clients of all ages from MS, AL, and TN. King Speech-Language Therapy is a premier speech only therapy center within north MS and currently employs multiple speech-language pathologists with a unique focus and mission of providing specialized speech-language therapy services to improve speech-language, swallowing, and cognitive function for all ages.
