Mohamed A. Mohamed holds a master’s degree in Speech–Language Pathology, a master’s degree in psychology, and PhD in clinical psychology. In addition, he has been a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM) since December 2013. Mohamed holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). He is a Registered Speech–Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech–Language Pathologists of Ontario
(CASLPO) and a member of Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC). He has worked in a variety of settings in the United States and Canada as a Speech–Language Pathologist and was a professional practice leader at Humber River Hospital in Toronto, Ontario where he helped develop online documentation for the hospital.
Mohamed’s clinical areas of interest are swallowing disorders, voice disorders, and myofunctional therapy. He loves to work with patients who are on tube feeding to help wean them from tube to oral feeding. He was appointed to the board of the swallowing and swallowing disorders committee for the ASHA convention held in Philadelphia in 2010. He is the founder and owner of the Swallowing, Voice and Speech Rehab Clinic in Mississauga, Ontario which opened in 2010.
Mohamed is an approved instructor with the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM). His course “Tongue Thrust and Beyond: A Myofunctional Course” is held four times a year, teaching in Canada, United States, and around the world. He is a member of the board of Directors of the International Association of Orofacial Myology IAOM.
Mohamed is an was adjunct professor at Durham College and currently he serves as an academic advisor at the Department of Health and Community Services.
