Joni Loftin, MSP-CCC-SLP, COM, Professor Emerita, recently exchanged her university position for direct clinical work, founding Align Orofacial Myology and Speech, a small private practice serving ages 7 to seniors in the Boise, Idaho and surrounding areas. She has been implementing tenets of orofacial myology since 2008, seeing immediate increases in the efficiency and scope of effectiveness in the treatment she was providing. Her practice focuses on having a keen eye on new research, best-practice, and crafting a highly personalized plan of care for her clients. In addition to assessing and treating clients, her experience includes numerous podium and poster presentations at state, regional, and national conferences, two co-authored peer-reviewed research publications, and 10 years of teaching a 3-credit graduate-level SLP course fully dedicated to assessment and treatment of orofacial myofunctional disorders. Joni is a former patient of a sleep disorder, tongue-tie release, ALF appliance, sleep therapy, and orofacial myofunctional therapy, all of which drives her desire to help others gain the utmost knowledge and function to improve their overall health!
