Born and raised in Saskatoon, Emily completed a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Communication Disorders at Minot State University, graduating with her Master’s degree in 2017.
Throughout her education and practicums, she has gained experience in school and hospital settings, working with children and adult clients.
Emily’s areas of specialization include preschool and school-aged children who have articulation, phonology, and language disorders. She also has a unique interest in the area of orofacial myofunctional therapy (i.e., tongue thrust/negative oral habits, and how this affects breathing, eating, speaking, and dentition). In 2020, Emily received her training in orofacial myology at the Swallowing, Voice, & Speech Rehab Clinic in Brampton, Ontario. She is also Hanen-trained, PROMPT-trained, and bilingual in English and Cantonese.
Emily is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and supporting parents and caregivers in an effort to implement learning strategies that can best assist children. She is dedicated to providing client-centered therapy that is productive and fun!
Emily is a registered member of the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Saskatchewan (CSASK) and is an active member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM).
